March 24, 2018
The 3rd LD will select seven (7) delegates and three (3) alternates to the Washington State Democratic Party Convention (to be held Saturday, June 18 in Wenatchee) at 3rd LD Caucus / Spokane County Democratic Party Convention to be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018.
At the Spokane County Democratic Convention portion of the meeting, platform issues will be considered and resolutions will also be voted on.
Individuals considering themselves to be Democrats who reside in the 3rd Legislative District are eligible to run for delegate/alternate positions as well as vote for those running for delegate/alternate positions. Those participating in the LD caucus are urged to stay for the Spokane County Convention, where Democrats in the county will focus on the county's platform as well as consider resolutions to be forwarded to the State Convention.
Individuals who are not able to attend the LD caucus for any reason may self-nominate themselves as candidates for delegate to the state convention.
The LD caucus meeting will start at 10:00 am, although no business may be transacted until 11:00 am after the credentials committee report is approved. You may arrive at any time during the caucus and participate (for example, if you arrive during the voting for delegates to the state convention you will still be given the ability to vote). The county convention begins immediately after the LD caucuses finalize their delegate selections and it is expected that the county convention will conclude its work by 3:30 pm.
Draft rules proposed by the Rules Committee have been approved for consideration by attendees at the meeting.
The location of the LD caucus/Spokane County Convention is Cheney Middle School, 740 Betz Road, Cheney, WA 99004.
