The Third Legislative District Democrats post its own events, along with events from Spokane County Democrats.
May 14, 2018
If you're interested in running for office in 2018 (including running to become an elected Precinct Committee Officer), Monday, May 14, 2018 is the first day to file as a candidate with the Spokane County Elections Office.
Precinct Committee Officers (PCOs) elected at the Primary Election on August 7, 2018 take office in December 2018 and will serve a two-year term of office ending November 30, 2020.
They will elect local party leaders (at the legislative district and county party reorganization meetings in December 2018/January 2019). They will also chose their local party organization representatives to the Washington State Democratic Central Committee (WSDCC).
The WSDCC reorganization will occur in late January, 2019. At that meeting, representatives from the 88 county and legislative district party organizations in Washington will vote for the leadership of the state party organization.
In January 2020, the same representatives will vote for four people to represent our state on the Democratic National Committee, serving four-year terms starting immediately after the 2020 Democratic National Convention.
More information about being an elected PCO may be found here.
