Precinct Committee Officers representing 121 of the county's precincts gathered at the Red Lion River Inn in Spokane on Saturday, January 14, 2017 to elect the leadership of Spokane County Democrats.
Election results are:
Chair - Andrew Biviano (residing in the 4th LD),
Vice Chair - Jaclyn Archer (residing in the 6th LD),
State Committeewoman - Mary Carr (residing in the 3rd LD), and
State Committeeman - Ed Duhaime (residing in the 3rd LD).
Other action taken at the county party's reorganization meeting included:
Approval of a resolution of endorsement supporting Tina Podlodowski for Chair, and Joe Pakootas for Vice Chair, of Washington State Democrats at the state party's reorganization meeting in Olympia later in the month, and
Approval of a resolution calling upon the state party organization to work with local party units against hate crimes.
With the election of a new chair at the county level, the Precinct Committee Officer (PCO) appointment process (to fill positions in precincts without elected PCOs) may begin.
