Results of 2020 Filing Week

In the 3rd Legislative District, sixty (60) candidates filed to represent fifty two (52) precincts during Filing Week 2020. 

Forty five (45) of the candidates will be elected without opposition after Monday's candidate-withdrawal deadline passes and the remaining fifteen (15) candidates will appear in seven (7) contested races on the August 2020 primary ballot.

Candidates for the state legislature also filed during Filing Week. The three incumbent Democrats representing the 3rd LD all face challengers in 2020:

And lastly, candidates filed to run in the two County Commissioner races on the 2020 ballot (both districts are currently represented by Republicans.)

About 20 precincts in the 3rd LD will see the County Commissioner District 1 on the August primary ballot, while about 15 precincts in the 3rd LD will see the County Commissioner District 2 race on the August primary ballot. All precincts in the LD will see both County Commissioner races on the November ballot as 2020 is the last year under current state law for Spokane County Commissioners to be elected county-wide.
